Beeswax: Produced from the hives of honey bees. it is estimated that these bees fly approximately 150,000 miles to produce one pound of beeswax. right now there is an alert in the science and agriculture sectors because the bee colonies are disappearing.
Carnauba wax: Derived from the leaves of a brazilian plant called the carnauba palm (copernicia prunifera).
Castor oil: An evergreen shrub that has been used medicinally for about 4,000 years. castor oil contains lectins which are carbohydrate binding proteins.
Shea butter: Extracted from the fruit of the shea tree. shea butter has strong.
Mica: A silicate mineral from the earth and whose name comes from the latin word micare, which means "shine". mica use dates back way back to pre-historic times with the earliest use found in paleolithic cave paintings. May contain (+/-).
Carmine: (the creepy crawly of our make-up line) is a pigment derived from carminic acid from the scales of certain insects such as the cochineal. vegans and folks not turned on by bugs should not use the products we make with carmine. carmine is the only red color alternative to synthetic fd&c coloring, so we feel it is the better choice.
