UME Healthy Balance Astringent is great for use on normal and combination skin. This refreshing astringent deep cleans and tones skin as it energizes.

Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) water (and) Ethanol, aqua (filtered water), glycerine (vegetable), Fusanus spicatus (sandalwood) oil, Styax benzoin oil, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil.

Witch Hazel: Witch Hazel is an alcoholic extract from the Witch Hazel tree. UME Witch Hazel contains 85-86 % aqueous witch hazel extract and 14-15 % ethyl alcohol (preservative). Recognized as one of nature's best astringents it is particularly beneficial for those who experience oil and problematic skin. It has well documented anti-oxidant, healing, anti-inflammatory, soothing, and cooling properties.

Vegetable glycerine: Vegetable Glycerin is a clear, colorless, and odourless liquid. It is used as an agent in cosmetics, toothpaste, shampoos, soaps, herbal remedies, pharmaceuticals, and other household items. It is a valuable natural sourced ingredient with emollient like properties that helps soften and soothe the skin and it assists the outer epidermis to retain moisture.

Rosemary Spanish: This sweet herbaceous smelling oil is reputed to help with mental fatigue, enhance memory, ease stress conditions and see things from a clearer perspective. It stimulates cell renewal, improves dry or mature skin, eases lines and wrinkles, and heals burns and wounds. It can also help heal acne, blemishes, improve circulation and can reduce the appearance of broken capillaries and varicose veins.

Sandalwood Australian: This exotic masculine oil has a deep rich aroma that is recognized as an aphrodisiac and a great stress buster. It has anti inflammatory, antiseptic and astringent qualities that make it a popular choice for use in facial blends as it helps balance and soothe irritated skin.

UME Healthy Balance Astringents should be used on clean skin, though they may be used as a cleanser. Spray cotton wool cosmetic pad until slightly wet and gently stroke over face and neck in an upward motion. Be gentle on delicate veins. Follow with your favourite moisturizer to help keep skin soft and supple.

Note: Astringents should not be used on dry, sensitive or aging skin. Even very oily skin types should avoid too frequent applications as this stimulates the oil glands.

Astringents may also be used in the following manner.

Refreshing Facial Mist: UME Astringents may also be sprayed directly to skin as a refreshing facial mist. When spraying directly onto face and neck, hold bottle at least 12 inches away, close eyes and spay as often as needed. Let mist dry naturally.

Aftershave: UME Astringents works great as an aftershave. It helps to reduce razor burn and swelling, leaves the skin feeling soft and fresh.
