Talc
Carcinogenic when inhaled, lung irritant, is reported to cause coughing, vomiting, and even pneumonia, can irritate sensitive mucous membranes. Many paediatricians now tell parents to avoid using talc on babies as it can cause respiratory distress, sometimes resulting in death. Found in many cosmetics products as well as baby products. Talc in liquid formulations poses minimal risk.
Toluene
Can cause liver, kidney and brain damage. Known reproductive toxin which can damage a developing fetus. Found in many perfumes and fragrances.
Triclosan & Triclocarbon
When exposed to sunlight (found in our waterways) they create dioxins (carcinogen). Found in antibacterial soaps and products. Shown to feminize fish.
Trisodium Nitrilotriacetate (NTA)
Listed as a possible human carcinogen (IARC 2B) by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Has an adverse environmental impact.
